Abstract

The teaching of foreign and national languages in the digital era requires a comprehensive psychopedagogical and pedagogical approach that leverages technological opportunities to optimise learning. This study examines the impact of digital tools on the acquisition of linguistic competencies, drawing on psychopedagogical theories such as constructivism and Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory. A qualitative research design with a descriptive and analytical approach was employed, utilising interviews with teachers, surveys of students, and documentary analysis. The findings reveal that digital platforms, interactive applications, and virtual immersion environments enhance student engagement, personalise learning, and improve communicative competence. However, challenges such as the lack of teacher training in educational technology and resistance to change were identified. The fundamental role of educators in facilitating digital learning and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on language teaching are highlighted. Based on these findings, strategies are proposed for teacher training and the implementation of innovative methodologies that effectively integrate technology. This study contributes to the development of pedagogical practices tailored to the current challenges of language education and suggests future research directions on the impact of artificial intelligence in language teaching.
