Abstract

This study analyzed how to generate engagement (level of commitment to a brand) in students through rebranding (identity redesign) in a higher education institution, specifically the EuroAmerican University Technological Institute. The main objective of the research was to understand the key elements of identity change and its influence on students’ engagement towards the brand. A mixed research approach was followed, in which a sample was taken which included a survey addressed to students, an interview directed to an expert involved in the rebranding process and an observation guide to evaluate visual and audiovisual elements. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of these processes in conveying a strong and attractive identity, as well as opportunities to improve existing material. Most of the students affirm that the updated brand identity strengthens their sense of belonging and they are satisfied with the results. The discussion focuses on the ability of these changes through their different tangible and intangible elements to generate a greater commitment to the institute, taking into account that evaluations and updates must always be carried out to adapt to the brand and its target audience.
