SMES in Ecuador and their share of GDP

Abstract
This article aims to find the relationship between the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) index and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); To this end, different sources of primary information are investigated, such as the web portals of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Central Bank of Ecuador, and the Superintendence of Companies. The descriptive and quantitative method is based on the statistical indices used with their respective literature review that explains the behavior of the variables in the study period (2020 to 2022). The general objective is to analyze the participation of SMEs in Ecuador through sales and the effect they generate on Ecuador's Gross Domestic Product. The variables selected for the analysis are quantitative, which allow the determination of the economic growth index of GDP and the participation of SMEs.
