Analysis of the evolution of rose exports from Ecuador - Peru and their participation in international markets in the years 2018 – 2022

Abstract

In the field of international trade, floriculture is considered one of the most outstanding agricultural activities in the production of high-value crops, so that it contributes significantly to the generation of employment and income, which is why rose exports meet an important role in the economy of the countries, being feasible for the income of foreign exchange, thus promoting long-term commercial economic growth, given that export operations generate a great contribution to the Gross Domestic Product of the national market. However, the various circumstances that arose between the years 2018 to 2022, such as climate changes, the lack of positioning of roses in the foreign market, the high degree of competitiveness in international markets, the COVID-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine has affected the rose export sector, directly impacting the economy of the different countries. That is why the article is written with the purpose of describing the evolution of rose exports from Ecuador - Peru and their participation in international markets in the years 2018 - 2022, observing the export potential and competitiveness in the markets international. Theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used to corroborate scientific rigor. The results presented led to the conclusion that rose exports experienced several changes during the five years, where Ecuador had significant growth in 2022 with a share of 23%, being the 2nd largest exporter of roses in the world. Therefore, in Peru exports show a decrease in sales, positioning itself in number 55 with a share of 0.2% on a global scale, where exports of Ecuadorian roses have a greater share, thus promoting economic growth. from the country.

I began my primary education at the “Unidad Popular” Educational Unit, then I continued my secondary studies at the U. E.
